Delivery & Return
A. Furniture – faulty within warranty
All furniture is inspected before leaving our warehouse, customers are responsible for unpacking and inspecting all of the components of their furniture upon delivery. If there are any problems or damages please note these on the delivery docket and advise our Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne store within 24 hours. If your furniture is faulty or an incorrect timber, material or colour we will replace it immediately. If we cannot replace it, we will refund you in full including the delivery charge.
Furniture purchased in store or sight unseen – change of mind
Customers are responsible for making sure furniture will fit through doors, up stairwells and in lifts. Please also make sure the furniture you purchase is suitable for your room. If you change your mind and return your furniture in original, unmarked condition and packaging within 7 days we will exchange it for another piece or offer you a credit note to the value of the goods only. The original delivery charges will not be refunded and the customer is required to pay for the delivery cost to get the furniture back to our warehouse and for getting the new furniture delivered using The Modern’s normal transport company. There will also be a $100 warehouse restocking fee.
There are no refunds for change of mind.
B. Accessories – faulty
If your product is faulty please contact us within 7 days and we will exchange it, if it cannot be exchanged we offer a full refund.
C. Accessories – change of mind
If your full priced item is unsuitable and in original condition with original packaging and the receipt, we will offer an exchange or a credit note within 7 days of purchase. If you cancel a lay-by or change your mind following payment of the deposit, we are happy to offer an exchange or credit note within 7 days of purchase.
